Ombak

A gamelan-inspired instrument for the M-VAVE FM-1, by Lunar Eclipse Forge.

Mostly Balinese, made for meditative atmospheres: you play the core melody, the ensemble weaves around it, and every note shimmers with ombak, the beating of two instruments tuned slightly apart.

Ombak is inspired by gamelan, not a gamelan. It owes everything to the living traditions of Bali and Java and the communities who play them.

MANUAL.md is how to play it. See DESIGN.md for where it stands. To hear the sound, open prototype/index.html in a browser and play it from the computer keyboard.

Ombak 1.2 installs from https://madmooneyham.github.io/Ombak/install/ (Chrome); BUILDING.md builds it. It runs on Penumbra's platform; LICENSING.md credits everyone whose work it stands on.
